Empire Earth — Epochs

A game can be set to start and end in any epoch. Advancing costs resources and time, and each epoch unlocks new units and buildings while older ones are retired.

The epochs
  • Prehistoric and Stone Age — clubmen, rock throwers, hunting.
  • Copper and Bronze Age — the first cities, phalanxes, chariots, war galleys.
  • Dark Age and Middle Ages — knights, crossbows, castles, siege engines.
  • Renaissance and Imperial Age — muskets, cannons, galleons.
  • Industrial Age — rifles, artillery, ironclads, the first factories.
  • Atomic Age (World War I, World War II, Modern) — tanks, aircraft, carriers, submarines.
  • Digital Age and Nano Age — modern armies, cyborgs and giant war robots.
  • Space Age (The Art of Conquest) — fighting in orbit and on other worlds.
Tips
  • Advancing at the right moment wins games: a new epoch's units beat the old ones, but the cost leaves you open while you research.
  • Air power arrives in the Atomic ages — build anti-aircraft before you need it.
