Diablo II turned the grind into a sport. Across Classic, Lord of Destruction and the Resurrected remaster, players race from a bare Act I wanderer to the fall of Baal and beyond, testing route knowledge, build theory and raw endurance. Every ladder reset is a starting pistol, and the community has spent two decades sharpening each second.
Ways to Compete
- Race to World First — first to clear Hell difficulty, and the Pandemonium Event, when a new ladder season begins.
- Ironman — no NPC services and no quest rewards; survive on what you find, solo or in a party of two.
- Speedrun races — the same route, strict rules, and the fastest to the finish takes the crown.
- Ladder-reset rushes — organised sprints the moment the season's slate is wiped clean.
Legends of the Arena
Diablo II's competitive scene has drawn some of the genre's greatest names — MrLlamaSC, Kripparrian, Dbrunski125, and record-holders like Indrek and 327 — while events such as the Twitch Rivals speedrun showdowns have put five-figure prize pools on the line. Race-to-World-First runs remain the marquee spectacle of every new season.
