Civilization VII — Ages and Legacy Paths
Each Age has four Legacy Paths — Military, Economic, Science and Culture — with milestones to reach before the Age ends. They are how you score, and how you win.
During an Age
- The Age progress bar fills over time and faster as players reach milestones.
- Reaching milestones earns Legacy Points, spent at the transition on bonuses for the next Age.
- Toward the end, a crisis strikes; the policies you are given to handle it are a test of your empire.
At the transition
- You choose your next civilization and spend Legacy Points.
- Most units are reset, but commanders carry over. Every city except your capital becomes a town again.
- Completing a path's final milestone gives a Golden Age bonus that keeps that path's strength going.
Winning
- In the final Age, each Legacy Path ends in a victory project — such as a space flight for Science or a World's Fair for Culture.
- Plan the whole game around one or two paths; trying to do all four is the most common mistake.
