Shrines

Shrines

Scattered through the dark stand stones of old power. Touch one and it gives — a moment's strength, a full flask, a rush of skill — or, now and then, it turns on you.

Most shrines go quiet for a time once used and wake again after their cooldown; a few give only once and are spent. Some appear only when you are deep enough to have earned them.

Respawn is the cooldown before a used shrine can be touched again. One-use shrines (gems, portals, the monster and fire shrines) are spent on the first touch.
